Going in, I was really nervous about having my implant procedure. The office staff was really helpful in explaining the process and helping me relax for the surgery. The procedure was painless, I didn't have any idea what was going on. I really didn't feel a thing. I will definitely recommend Advanced Dental Techniques. Thanks for the great job!
Implants use titanium posts that are implanted into the jaw bone. The titanium posts fuse to the jaw bone in a process called osseointegration. After the implant is placed, Dr. Breiterman may recommend leaving the post beneath the gum line and using a temporary replacement tooth. After three to six months of healing time, the implant post is accessed and an abutment is placed on top to hold a natural looking crown.
The cost to replace missing teeth varies with each individual’s unique needs. Placing implants requires adequate bone and tissue. In addition to having the correct number of implants placed to handle the amount of anticipated load from chewing, proper implant site preparation is extremely important to long term success of the implant. For many people, this means that either tissue or bone grafting will have to be performed prior to placing the actual implants and restoring them. The most common types or issues are bone grafting to restore defects, lifting of the maxillary sinus in the upper back areas of the mouth or tissue grafting to prevent loss of tissue around the implant. This makes it impossible to provide accurate costs for implant restoration without a thorough clinical and radiologic exam that will include a 3-D cone beam x-ray. At Advanced Dental Techniques, Dr. Breiterman will perform all the tests and exams in our office that are needed to give you the best outcome as part of our comprehensive implant exam in order to provide you with the most accurate cost available.
In some cases, the sinus cavity may interfere with implant placement. In these instances, a sinus lift may be recommended. Sinus lifts are a common bone grafting procedure for patients who are missing upper back teeth. For this procedure, Dr. Breiterman will surgically lift the sinus membrane and place a bone graft beneath it. After three to six months of healing time, an implant can be placed.
